Investigation Shows Hamas Used UN School As A Shield

Jerusalem — An investigation into the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) firing at a U.N.-run school in the Gaza Strip, which killed at least 30 Palestinians who had sought shelter inside, found that Hamas guerrillas had also been discovered among the dead.

Hamas operatives Imad Abu Askhar and Hassan Abu Askhar were among those killed.

A Hamas mortar battery had also been firing on the IDF from the area around the school.

“We face a very delicate situation where the Hamas is using the citizens of Gaza as a protective vest,” said IDF spokesman Brig. General Avi Benayahu, following the incident.
