Arab Terror Attacks Thwarted
By DAVID BEDEIN, Middle East Correspondent
Jerusalem — Three Arab terror incidents occurred over the weekend and each of them was thwarted.
On Friday morning, a terrorist from Hebron who was armed with a knife entered a hilltop community known as Beit Hagai. After the terrorist attacked a child, members of the local security squad were brought to the scene and killed him after he managed to wound one of them.
On Saturday morning, an Arab driver drove into two police officers who were carrying out a routine inspection at a security checkpoint north of Jerusalem. Both policemen were injured.
The policemen were inspecting an Arab taxi at the Hizme roadblock north of Jerusalem because it lacked license plates. Then, according to a senior Israeli district traffic officer, a Mercedes vehicle approached, swerved from its lane and sped toward the police officers until it struck them. A police patrol team captured the driver at the entrance to the Hizme village.
“He said that he had intended to harm Jews and I believe him,” said the senior Israeli district traffic officer who captured the Arab driver.
On Saturday night, Arabs threw firebombs at houses in Beit El, located near Ramallah. Israeli troops fired at the Arabs, killing one and wounding another.
