Marvin Arkans, Distinguished Philadelphian, Passes Away

Marv and Florence established a National Eagle Scout Scholarship in the name of their late son Rick and also a local Rick Arkans Eagle Scout Scholarship fund.
Marv was a true friend to Scouting and will be dearly missed. I am personally saddened by his loss as I sent many lunches and phone calls discussing the improvement of the Scouting Program, he was a friend and a mentor. Below is the official notice of Marv’s passing.
Marvin L., on July 8, 2009. Husband of Florence (nee Sulkes), father of Steven Arkans, Edward (Eleanor) Arkans and the late Rick Arkans, brother of the late Sonya Lubar, grandfather of Matthew, Diana, Michael, and Erika Arkans. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, Council Commissioner and Scout Master of Boy Scouts of America and President of the Phila. Food Brokers Assn. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Sunday 11:30 A.M. precisely at GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Int. Shalom Memorial Park.
Shiva will be observed at the late residence commencing 7 P.M. Sunday. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Boy Scouts of America-Cradle of Liberty Council, 1485 Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA 19087.
