Palin And Co. Energizing GOP

Conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham recently sent an email blast to her listeners stating something very simple, yet profound: Conservatism is the most influential political philosophy of the past 100 years because it is built upon essential truths.
Ms. Ingraham is right for many reasons, but mainly because conservatism is inspired by our Constitution and the Founders’ intent that our government be limited and representative of the people. Conservatives seek to maintain the rich Constitutional traditions engendered some 233 years ago in this very city. If Tuesday’s off-year elections were any indicator of things to come in 2010, Democrats should brace themselves because conservatives are indeed ready to defend their principles at the polls.
Here’s what we know for sure after the Nov. 3 elections: We know that voters in Virginia and New Jersey rejected President Obama’s policies by electing two Republicans as their governors. Virginia and New Jersey are two states that Mr. Obama won last year. What’s more telling are the polling numbers: 66 percent of voters registered as Independents voted for Republican challenger Bob McDonnell and 60 percent of the same demographic voted for Republican Chris Christie in New Jersey. Perhaps, after only 11 months, Obama-mania has lost its appeal among voters?
We know that the spirited tea party and town hall-style events perhaps really do reflect the feelings of a nation fed up with the rhetoric of hope and change. Voters in New Jersey and Virginia confirmed this, as did the controversial race for a House seat in New York’s 23rd district. Although the conservative candidate lost, he was endorsed by the likes of GOP favorites Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty and exposed a Republican candidate for who she really was -- a liberal.
We know that there are GOP candidates like Dede Scozzafava who are Republicans-in-Name-Only (RINOs). Conservatives are no longer willing to swallow the RINO pill like we did with John McCain. For us it’s about much more than having an electable candidate. We want candidates who will support the essential truths that Ms. Ingraham mentions.
We know that we need to support conservatives like Doug Hoffman sooner and root out party RINOs during the primaries, not just a few weeks before the general election. In short, we need to mobilize behind the energy of conservatism and nominate candidates who support fiscal responsibility, limited government, rule of law and traditional family values.
We know that Mrs. Palin is a media machine and that her endorsement means something. In fact, it changed the entire scope of the race in the 23rd District in New York. Other conservative Republicans like Mr. Pawlenty soon followed Mrs. Palin’s lead by also endorsing Mr. Hoffman. Claude Sandroff at The American Thinker writes, “Palin is bringing us back to the principled, universal roots that Reagan shared with the Founders.”
We now know that the conservative base of the GOP — Mrs. Palin, Mr. Pawlenty, Fred Thompson, Dick Armey, and Steve Forbes — is the true voice of the Party. In their endorsement of conservatives like Mr. Hoffman, they sent a message to the establishment that adhering to the core principles of conservativism is what the party wants. We’re tired of out-of-control spending, government takeovers of private enterprise and weak foreign policy.
We know that Mr. Obama’s extremely liberal policies, including government take-over of the car industry, the banking industry and perhaps even the healthcare industry, have energized the conservative base. At least Mr. Obama’s done something for us. Our Constitution is threatened and conservatives are going rogue with the likes of Mrs. Palin to preserve the Age of Reagan forever.
We know that Democratic incumbents in Congress need to be alert for 2010. If New Jersey and Virginia are any indication of voters riding the winds of change, perhaps they should start listening to the voters now. Thousands upon thousands of tea partiers flocked to Washington in droves on Sept. 12 and again on Nov. 5 to have their voices heard by Congress. All of America was paying attention to them except Congress and Nancy Pelosi who had the audacity to proclaim that her new bill calling for nationalized healthcare was “what the people wanted.” Americans have been saying no to that bill since July and Congress still insists on ignoring “we the people.”
And finally, we know that voters in Maine now join 31 other states to date that have rejected same-sex marriage in a popular vote. Gay marriage has now been defeated in every state where the people were allowed to decide at the polls. When will same-sex activists understand that Americans value traditional marriage and have demonstrated that through electoral means repeatedly?
It is obvious from these elections that Americans are moving back to center right values thanks to true conservatives like Mrs. Palin. The Arctic Fox is going rogue and it looks like America just might follow her.

I watched the montage of TV reporters and anchors on Bill O' last night, and was astounded at their inability to give even a semblance of a fair shot to this woman. PalinDerangementSyndrome, is alive and well. Kind of like the Swine Flu and its return, but it has mutated into a far more virulent strain!!!! "
