Pro-Lifers Stand Up at Philadelphia City Hall

While their partners were in D.C. some 80 local pro-lifers rallied at City Hall at noon on Friday, January 22nd, marking the 37th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The rally focused on adoption. Prudence Humber, director of Alpha Pregnancy Services emceed the event and Rev. Brent Miller, Pastor of Phoenixville Baptist Church led the invocation.
Three speaker gave different perspectives of adoption. The first was made by a mother who had her child adopted, followed by parents who adopted a child and then an 18 year old who was adopted out of foster care. The benediction was pronounced by Fr. Nicholas Martorano, pastor of St. Nicholas Tolentine parish in South Philadelphia.
He also called for the intercession of Saint Gianna Molla, the OB/Gyn who sacrificed her own life for the life of her child in the womb. During 2008, there were 21,585 abortion in the five Southeast Pa. counties - an increase from 2007.
