Thousands Gather For March For Life
“This wide representation here in the National Shrine represents the growing tide of public understanding of that unchanging truth that the right to life is sacred and inviolable from the first moment of conception to the moment of natural death.”
This was Cardinal Justin Rigali’s message to the thousands of Philadelphians gathered for the Friday morning Vigil Mass at Washington’s National Shrine to mark the 37th Annual Rally and March for Life. Of the estimated 300,000 attendees in Washington D.C. on Jan. 22, nearly 7,000 Philadelphians marched behind Cardinal Rigali, Bishop Joseph McFadden, Bishop Robert Maginnis, and Bishop Timothy Senior carrying the Archdiocese banner.
